World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to an item are a way to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it may increase the rarity of an item or mark Level and boost additional stats.

The process of upgrading gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its base stats are increased in value. The value is the sum of all of its upgraded benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive depending on the upgrader you choose and what type of upgrade you choose to perform. This is due to the variety of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item.

Item level is a popular measure of power, and is visible on all item level upgrade tooltips. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players can use, since PvP is limited at a lower level. Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.

Using the item level will allow players to compare the power of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's a sign of the item upgrader's condition and quality. Comparing items from a vendor's stock can be done using the item level.

On PC, you can see the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, as well as its level. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are a few theories about how the calculation of an item's level is made. One theory is that the item level is a numerical value derived from a formula which calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that various perks have different value and that gems in sockets add to the item's overall value. This could result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzards actual item level.

This is not the only factor that affects the value of an item. The location of where the item dropped can also alter its stats. For example, it could increase the item's haste or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more ilvl than those from lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the best." The stats of a base weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat mods which are then increased by the player's skill.

Upgrades to an item can boost its stats. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey for instance, can only be upgraded once however, items that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Another method of altering the stats of an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes are used to give items additional damage, special capabilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs), or to distinguish them by naming them.

All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and other items which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other rerolling options.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges of an item are based on the level of the item, but all items are guaranteed to have at least one stat within that range, unless it's an item that is unique or a God roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be altered by adding an option to upgrade item (learn here) the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. Like base equipment, it must be done per item, and the interface for item comparison will not show all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the chance of finding items, the properties that are created by loot and the strength of these properties. It doesn't, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives the player a chance to acquire better gear in earlier waves and is therefore more beneficial in the early game than in later ones, because most players value more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading which increases with each level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, shields, and armor can spawn or be crafted using the Luck property, which has the default value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on their material type) to add another 40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be outfitted to increase the damage of any skill that is able to deal damage by five percent. These items are available in the shop, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their success rate or prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. There are limitations to how much the success rates can be improved and the chance of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%.

The luck of an item may influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. All items have an overall success rate of 25%, and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items, so enchantment glint and other effects can be masked by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
