Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes that boost the base stats of the item or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Usually, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while items with strong bases such as eth titans do not vary much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute benefit, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies or as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats as well as the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions, which can only be placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are similar to gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding a Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph by another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component the item will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important differences from earlier versions. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can be upgraded a set number of times before being "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, however the materials needed do not. This lets players focus their efforts on a few important items to maximize their impact, instead of spreading upgrade Item costs across multiple items.

If an item upgrade is leveled out and is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, as well as an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to receive affixes that will boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available depends on the type of item it is. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon with a standard base will have only two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade process requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and what slot it is placed in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item is not able to attain its maximum level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of material, though it will have a lower chance of success.

To measure the height of a building engineers employ an instrument to compare the measurement to an established reference point, like a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod and then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to an extremely high degree of precision and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item upgrader. It is a vital aspect of the game and can drastically increase the strength of an item or damage, as well as other characteristics. This can be accomplished through the menu for items or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be performed in the rarest of circumstances.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the amount of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats to your build more often than others. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each statistic. This can be good or bad, based on what you want and need from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special fixed-value bonus that boosts its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to the normal affixes. The more you improve a product, the higher your chances of receiving a unique bonus.

The game also comes with number set that grants an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on a unit. This is a good way to give a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. This is because rerolling could give players a faster route to becoming a strong character, allowing them to reach high tiers and progress the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged differently. They can be of various sizes, contain none at all, or contain just one element. They can be utilized to organize data or sort information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways in terms of size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading, while some are not. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets with high defense value and set bonuses. However, upgrades to weapons typically don't improve the quality of the item's stats when in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade in the event that your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already extensive.

Set items can be upgraded to include unique functions that are beneficial for specific builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items up to parity with the different tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items could enhance their defense, and increase their competitiveness when it comes to damage.

To determine if an item upgrader mod is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on their character screen. It will show the item's attributes, along with the required items to upgrade it. For instance the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternatively, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to find out the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when they are fully updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs, upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will result in a significant improvement in their stats. This will also boost the defense of armor that has an updated look.
