All-terrain stroller is light, durable and offers great maneuverability. Its compact one-hand fold means it's lightweight and also freestanding when folded. The padded seat reclines into a nearly flat position, and there's a large storage bin and canopy. Newborn suitability? Yes with an additional carrycot.

Air-filled tyres and a good suspension will handle rough terrain well. You can also use it to jog. But, you should wait until your baby is at minimum 6 or 9 months old.

Ickle Bubba XL Air

This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is a brilliant option for parents looking for an easy-to-use buggy that has enhanced features. This travel system includes an adjustable carrycot that can be folded flat for infants as well as a multi-position rear and forward facing seat for a pushchair.

The XL Air is a really impressive car and it's easy to see why it's been awarded so many praises from customers. It's extremely light - the chassis and wheels weigh just 6.5kg and it's extremely simple to construct. In fact, I was able to complete the entire setup and running in just five minutes, which is amazing given that it included the tying of the fabric to the carrycot!

The seat is large and comfortable for Annie, who is just 12 months old. The recline lever was simple to use. The basket has plenty of space and I am impressed that the handle bar features pockets to keep your phone and keys safe.

The handlebar is a bit low, which can be a problem for parents who are taller. However, it's encased in a lovely leather-like material that is soft and comfortable, and it wipes down easily, so it's still easy to push even with children and bags on your hands!

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is designed for active parents who want to get outside and explore. The large pneumatic wheels can be used on forest and field trails. The front wheel is lockable and can be swiveled to allow for greater flexibility. The stroller also features a 5-point safety harness with an adjustable front bar that will keep your child safe during all journeys. The parking brake will keep the stroller stationary while you take a rest. The comfortable seat is easy to recline to a comfortable lying position, and the canopy can be opened to allow with netting to ensure maximum air circulation on hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30cm to accommodate dad or mum's heights.

No matter if you're taking an easy jog or a longer hike The Runner will be there to accompany you on all your adventures with a reclining, fully-flat seat and suspension air wheels that guarantee an unhurried ride. The front wheel can be locked to provide greater stability when walking on narrow streets or busy sidewalks. The stroller is also able to fold up to fit into car boot spaces or storage spaces.

Some parents have found the Runner 2 to be a bit more difficult to navigate than its predecessor, and the locking system isn't as user-friendly (requiring two buttons on the opposite side of the push bar). The handlebar is a little higher than the ones of competitors and therefore it may not suit shorter parents, but overall this is a sturdy and versatile stroller worth a look for families with active children.

Red Kite Push Me Pace

Red Kite's Pace is a fantastic product from the affordable British brand. They are known for their well-designed, no-fuss products that are essential for parents. It's the latest and most expensive addition to their bargain lightweight stroller range and as with the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo is car seat compatible so that you can use it from birth (the carrycot folds away).

The new Pace has some fantastic design features such as a rose-gold tint on the chassis, hood and stroller trims that really make it stand out. The grey, tan and cream fabrics used in the stroller as well as the car seat are stylish and there is the option of adding the leather handle for the cover and bumper bar, too.

The stroller seat is used from birth until 22kg. It easily converts into a 2-in-1 reversible position, which is either parent-facing or world-facing. The stroller seat has multi lie back positions, softly padded leg rests and comes with an extendable sun canopy featuring concealed zip sections, viewing through flaps and a retractable sun visor section.

When folded, the Pace measures 56 32 x 43 cm which means it can be used as hand luggage with Easyjet and Ryanair among others. It's also easy to fold down, using two buttons on the handlebar's opposite side that just need to be pressed in and out. Then, it will pop up.

Bugaboo Fox 5

Bugaboo's Fox 5 is designed to be the ultimate, all-terrain stroller. Its unique chassis, which has a shorter wheel-distance, makes it much more mobile than its predecessor. I tested it with my two kids eight weeks old and a toddler - on rough pavements as well as grassy wooded paths and even cobblestones.

The wheels that are puncture-proof are large - 22cm and 30cm - so they can cope with lots of different terrains. The wheels come with a flap that can be opened or closed to let air in when required. It's a bit bigger than some pushchairs but it doesn't feel bulky or heavy when you're pushing it across bumpy surfaces.

The fabric of the seat is machine washable, as are the frame and faux leather grips are easy to wipe down. It is also quieter than other pushchairs and I felt comfortable with it on busy urban streets. It has integrated accessory points so you can attach parasols and footmuffs and also changing bags or snack trays, and even snack tray. The hood can be used to block out the elements of wind and rain, but it's not waterproof. The single pram is able to be fitted with the Comfort Wheeled board (not included), which gives your child more leg room. It took around 20 minutes to assemble the bassinet, and a similar amount of time to convert it into the seat.

The Ridge's reversible seat lets you to decide whether your child will face you or the world that lies ahead and its simple foot brake system is a breeze for parents who are new. A great feature is the reversible handlebar, which lets you adjust it to your height and preference. And unlike some jogging strollers The Ridge's fold is stable and stays upright when folded.

The new iCandy pushchair is packed with features that will really impress parents. It has a Multi-Mode Wheelbase and a pioneering LED Visibility Hub Light that's a first for the industry.
