Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stats linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain an indicator of the level of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item varies with its rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to increase the stats on your weapons and armor. This can be achieved through a variety of methods, including by using upgrade components or increasing the rarity or mark level. A lot of items can be reforged to boost their value.

Upgradeable items are available all over the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. Upgrade components are the main method to upgrade equipment. These are items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has slots that can be upgraded, and many require a certain level of upgrade. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while others offer a general bonus.

There are several types of upgrade components available in the game, such as universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments can be placed on any type of equipment, and offer less than upgrades that are specific to equipment. Glyphs can only be placed in gathering tools, and provide various bonuses, from increasing the speed of an item upgrading's gathering to supplying additional crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected stats are after the upgrade, as well as any necessary components or materials. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as Blocked if you don't have enough of or.

The number of upgrade components required for a particular item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of an upgrade increases depending on the level of the upgrade and its rarity, however it can be reduced through many different methods, including purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them to other players.

Most weapons can be improved with a prefix, such as a rune or an insignia. Other weapons can be improved with a suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item to add an adjective, such as 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor. The only exceptions are the noninscribable wands, shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which are not upgradeable with any kinds of mods in any way.

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to convey visual information. They animate to capture the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language, making them more effective in conveying the message of a language barrier. Glyphs can also increase the likelihood of remembering a message by evoking an emotional connection in the brain.

Each glyph comes with a range of values that it can enhance a stat according to the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This is the maximum value that a glyph can improve a stat by, not the amount that it actually increases the stat by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the quality and tier of the item you're enchanting it to.

Most upgrade components inserted into items can't be repaired or replaced without dismantling the gear in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use but it hasn't been applied to gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can remove the glyph using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item where the glyph is located will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be retrieved by removing the glyph fragments.

Adding a glyph to an item may cause it to be unstable, and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory when you remove the Best item upgrader. You can also place an inscription on your equipment to increase its value. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and then be dealt slowly to the wearer instead of all at once. This can be helpful for players who take lots of damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens let players alter the affixes they use on their equipment and weapons, and they can be obtained in various ways such as in mistery boxes, as an uncommon drop from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with an affix randomly chosen and generally better than the one they had before. Reroll tokens can be used to boost the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.

Items that have been rerolled do not appear in the item upgrade menu, however, they still qualify to receive upgrades. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the layout of the item upgrader mod window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. Recycling an item adds small amount of points to its gauge of level. The amount is determined by the item's rarity and its level, which means higher-level items are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.

In addition to tokens for rerolls, players can make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls will determine the percentage chance of a particular weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded, and if it rolls lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

Rerolls are a good option to upgrade an item, but players must be aware that it could reduce the overall ilvl the weapon based on the number of rerolls required in order to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This is evident on Diadems and Rings, because they are the only options for raising ilvl.

The reroll system has been criticized by players for being too expensive, and it would be more equitable to let players pay for it with money or food items which would allow them to change their build without spending too much time and energy. However paying for rerolls is not something the developers want to implement at this point in the game's development. Instead, they plan to add an option to change the race in the near future.

Leveling

There are several ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade which boosts the upgrade value of the stat. The second is to boost the effect of an upgrade, which increases the healing or damage of a given stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. After this, the new item will maintain its iLevel however it will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.

When you upgrade items, it is important to remember that upgrades are random. Most of the time, a higher roll is based on the glyphs. However, there are times when a greater or special roll could occur. In addition the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item and if you upgrade a rare or unusual item upgrading to a unique type it could gain an iLevel that is higher.

Upgrades can be expensive particularly if you are upgrading equipment from the standard track to legendary. The cost of upgrading a piece of equipment will depend on the iLevel it's built upon and the amount of upgrade levels. Some upgrade tracks also require crests in order to get to the next level.

If you're fortunate, your upgraded item may get to the top of its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional benefit. This will result in a significant increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level though. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased a value of +3.

Based on the item's base level and its upgrade process, the iLevel for the upgraded item will change too. For example the weapon that has been upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to a rare or exceptional item will have a chance to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item type.
