The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to become stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well during our tests. It also doesn't come with cameras that let it see the corners of a room.
It's still a great deal for those whose office or home has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and works while you are at work or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have self-emptying docks, however. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be replaced with one that is wet in just a few minutes.

With an elegant, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba rather than the compact models, this robot auto vacuum and mop and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced.
