World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it can raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a certain amount.

item upgrader mod Level

The value of an item's stats base increases when it is upgraded. This is the sum of all its leveled up perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive dependent on the upgrader and the type of upgrade you choose to perform. This is due to the sheer number of perks that need to be altered to upgrade an item.

It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It is also used as a gating requirement while waiting to queue for dungeons and scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is limited to the lower levels). The average level of the item upgrader mod can be found in the character sheet.

Using the item level will allow players to compare the potency of gear when choosing to buy or sell. It's a sign of the item's condition and quality. The level of an item can be used to compare items when evaluating a vendor's inventory.

On PC, you can view the item level by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the complete item description, including its value. It can also be found by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are a few theories on how the calculation of the item's level is done. One theory says that the item level is determined by formulas that determine the worth of the stats of an item really are. It considers that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This can result in a calculated amount for the item's level, which is usually quite close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

This is not the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item. The level of the area where the item dropped can also change its stats. For instance, it could add a level to the item's haste or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big element in what makes or breaks an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the Best item upgrader." The stat mods of a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's skill.

Item upgrades add to that by boosting certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. A white or grey item for instance, can only be upgraded one time, while an item that has rare tiers can be upgraded several times at higher costs.

Affixes are a different method to change an item upgrader kit's stats. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes could be used to give the item extra damage, add a special ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down the duration of cooldowns) or make the item unique by giving an additional name to the item.

Currently, all affixes can be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button using circling arrows. This will cost a specific amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, as with other methods of rerolling.

Players can choose to upgrade an item to a specific stat or reroll the affixes. The possible ranges of stats for an item are based on the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within that range, unless it is an exclusive item or an item that is a God roll from a raid boss.

This is another aspect that could be changed by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. Like the base equipment, this will have to be done per item, and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the chances of item discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the intensity of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It gives the player the chance to upgrade equipment earlier in the game. This is especially useful for early game runs, because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability that increases with each item level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, shields, and armor can be created or spawned with the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to boost the existing Luck of the item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any skill that deals damage by five percent. These items are available in the shop or created by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item in the event that it does not work.

The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on how much the success rates can be improved and the chance of an upgrade failing cannot be greater than 100%..

The success of an item upgrades is also influenced by the luck of that item. Each item has a base success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases that chance by an additional five percent.

The upgrade overlays of the item are rendered above items in the inventory. This may cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
