The i3+ EVO, unlike some of the other robot vacuum cleaner price vacuums we have tested, has a self-emptying bin that automatically disposes of debris in an external dirt compartment located on its charging base once it's full. This reduces hands-on maintenance and also helps prevent the i3+ EVO from overfilling, but it must be manually cleaned after each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's built-in dust bin holds 2.4L of waste, which is more than enough to last five or four cleaning sessions before you need to replace it.

Like the i7, this model uses state-of-the-art floor sensors to create maps and navigate neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only store one map, whereas the i7 can store multiple. The i7's map is used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones, however, not the i3+ EVO.

Although the i3+ EVO is more effective in picking up surface debris than some of the other robovacs we reviewed but it's not the best affordable robot vacuum when it comes to cleaning corners and edges. It's also more abrasive on furniture, despite being remarkably quiet. It moved chairs away from walls and caused some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and also was stuck to cords and toys while testing.

2. Black & Decker Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro is an excellent option, whether you're expanding your collection of robot vacuums, or just getting started. It features an elegant design, powerful navigation, and effective automation at a reasonable price. It's the best pound-for-pound model available today and even beats some of Roborock's more expensive models in several ways.

This robot is fantastic at cleaning floors that are bare and its avoidance technology helps it steer clear of furniture legs or other obstacles. It also excels on carpets and scores a high score for our tests on navigation. The only drawback is that it's noisier than other models and doesn't do better in our user-satisfaction and predicted reliability tests.

The Q5 Pro has a very large dust bin of 770ml which means you won't have to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240 minute running time is also impressive when compared to other 2-in-1 robots we have tested. If the battery is low, it returns automatically to its dock, where it recharges before resuming cleaning from where it began. You can control the Q5 Pro via the app and make voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

This is the first robot we've seen with 3D mapping. That, combined with some other innovations, helps it perform exceptionally well during our mopping and vacuuming tests. It allows you to schedule cleanings, set no-go zones, and check the battery's condition as well as other things. The app is easy to use, but it does not support Apple HomeKit. This feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. As of early November, Apple has updated a footnote on its website to reflect that this feature will be delayed until 2025.
