Upgrades can increase the stats of a piece of equipment and, sometimes, even add extras. The worth of these upgrades is determined by the tiers of gear, their requirements and how many random augmentations are made available.

Reroll Tokens

Players can roll their equipment into three categories: physical power, magic power and health. Physical power upgrades boost the damage caused by melee and weapons and spell power upgrades rings and mage attacks. Health upgrades provide the player with an additional level of health.

Three types of rerolls tokens are available such as upgrade rare, legendary and rare. Each upgrade elevates the item to higher quality. To make them, you require a higher-quality reroll token. Enhanced upgrades require a common item, rare upgrades require a unique or a legendary item, and legendary upgrades require three legendary items.

The marker that rerolls, unlike markers or tokens that are placed on action areas, stays on the spot until the next Success is rerolled. This is a way to ensure that upgrades are not wasted.

Blueprints appear in the form of envelopes at the beginning of each Preparation Phase, and can be opened by grabbing them using Interact. The game will show you the requirements when you select the upgrade items component that goes into the item. This includes the type of item (either Weapon or Armor) the tier of the item and the Upgrade Token needed, and the amount of progress needed to complete the upgrade.

The game will put an item in your inventory once you have fulfilled the requirements for an upgrade. The progress bar will then change to show how close to completing the upgrade. You can also check the status of an upgrade by going to any item upgrader NPC.
