1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have test. They have top-of-the-line motors that can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model) they utilize smart mapping to produce precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like furniture legs. The robots also feature Carpet Boost, a feature which boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests of floors with no carpet, and they are particularly adept at cleaning dog hair. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.
It's still a great deal particularly if your office or home has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. Additionally, it's quiet and you can use it when you're at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad for a dry one in minutes.

It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could clean an entire home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a great job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms that had different flooring types, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was superb, and it avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

The smart robot employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles, making it more efficient than its more expensive rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this was not foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

It also mops using one pad and a reciprocating movement that cleans better that most mop cleaners for robots that we've tested. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying base that can be washed.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app comes with a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
It can also reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as clever combs for removing pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot clean that intensely cleans a localized area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble adorable eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, but it is more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums that we've tested. It also has an app that's less intuitive and has a tiny base station that can't double as a bin to empty.
