WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item upgrade level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and is accessible anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current item level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item level upgrade will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that are used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with an button, which will show an item's preview at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item upgrader mod has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Item upgraders can be found in many places including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades must be acquired through a variety of means which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is even if the items are from another set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a few options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific level upgrades for items. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests can only be used to purchase gear of a specific rank, and that each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of any difficulty to earn lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons that have a high difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an item upgrade upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, when an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character that will be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
