1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ a great option for those looking for a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of manually emptying their robot's dustbin as it gets full.

Both robots excel at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors and they're excellent at getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean up efficiently. The i3+ does not have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots that we tested. It can be stuck on power cords or socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces like carpet and hardwood.

iRobot suggests that you clean up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other items it might encounter. You should also keep the dustbin and filter clean to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning where it began. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for approximately an hour and a half continuous use, and takes about three hours to recharge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model of the flagship line from iRobot and is equipped with the most recent features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. the most important feature of all -- it comes with self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum black friday vacuum.

The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can control your robot via the app or voice.

In our testing the i7+ performed faster and more maneuverable than our second-placed model which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface kinds, including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin that eliminates a major cause of maintenance and lowers recurring costs.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility with amazon robot vacuum Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to start or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and to vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. After connecting we were able to give the i7+ voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system traps allergens, then lets cleaner air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to suck up large dust and crumbs. It comes with three suction modes that can be adapted to the task. It swiftly switches from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum and back again.

The model comes with a dock which charges the Dyson to 100% within 3.5 hours. It also provides the ability to connect two attachments as well as a wand. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons, which take a long time to charge and are difficult to store.

The biggest issue with the V10 is its limited run time. As CR's tests show, its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a common, not exceptional, battery-powered vacuum's run time. This is still enough to get rid of the majority of an average-sized house but not long enough to clean every spot (though the second time around usually will suffice). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is significantly better on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums The 694 is a basic model that's a good choice for people who don't want to spend too much on a robot. It's capable of sucking up most types of debris and sizes during our testing, and it often passes over the same areas multiple times to get a really thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach the corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it's not equipped with the ability to map that comes with more advanced models like our top picks such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways, as it has fewer components that require regular cleaning It also comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is better at maneuvering itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and can charge faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of reasons, since it has a better battery life, can change its suction power mode manually and comes with physical boundary strips, and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It's also more durable, has a stronger motor, and performs better on floors with low pile and bare.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's not a surprise, then, that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app offers a wide range of options to customize your robotic cleaner. This includes mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings, and many more. It's easy to understand and is user-friendly, which is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86 percent of it. However, it did not do particularly well with larger objects, like cords and socks, which was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than the other models we've tested and could be a problem for some shoppers.

The app allows you to access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's cleaning zone. This feature lets you check in on pets or kids when you're away from home. The filter and the dustbin can be cleaned for a quick, painless clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean and tidy station that's self-emptying and helps keep the robot's trash bin clean and optimizes its suction power for each cleaning run.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard flooring. The robots come with an extra-wide cleaning path, and dust bins that are 2X bigger than the competitors. This lets them keep the area clean for longer. Plus, they include two side sweepers to clean around edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also comes with AutoSense technology, which detects if it's picking up dirt or debris on the surface and then automatically adjusts its power level. The vacuum also comes with an app that allows you to view a virtual map, control functions, and set schedules. You can also check the vacuum's status and send it to the dock for charging with the touch of a single button. The app allows you to customize the LED lights on top of the vacuum bot using different colors, so that you can clearly see what areas it's focusing on or where it's got stuck.

The app makes it possible to manually steer the robot broom (great post to read) when needed. My living room rug for example is darkly colored that can trip up some other robots. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, without registering it as an incline. And the ability to create a weekly cleaning schedule is a fantastic time-saving feature.
