WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item upgrading by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item however, they are always cheaper than buying new gear. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be bought by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current level of the item upgrader kit level upgrade (from the Informer blog) and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades require various methods, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3 the upgrade system was altered a bit, with numerous new features added. After a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is regardless of whether the items are from another set of equipment.

The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut too, but it is only available once certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW players have a variety of options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item upgrader mod level upgrades. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be spent on gear of a specific rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, based on the type or gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean engaging in outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of any difficulty to earn lower-level gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons that have a high difficulty to obtain endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, when a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one purpose therefore it's essential to use them wisely. For instance it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrader equipment available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The account-wide discount is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
