Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that autonomous vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills, stains) in one time without the need to switch out devices. They can also help save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start manual gets you up and running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at fast speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

For instance, you can, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation technology are excellent too, with the robot being able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that the robot tends to hit walls and objects at full speed. However looking at the cleaning history on the app will tell you exactly what the robot has done, where it is going, and which obstacles he has run into or avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs the maintenance tasks that need to be done like emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and autonomous vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive that lets you look at all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum mop cleaner robot and mop, is the most up-to-date version. The model this year has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pick up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may miss.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to helps it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're an object that is a wall or a different surface. It can then automatically change its path and clean around the objects without a pause.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek, angular style is attractive and it has only three physical buttons which include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.

The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot vacuum cleaners best touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to jump through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
