Five Essential Tools Everyone In The Item Upgrading Industry Should Be Using
World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to boost the gear rating of an item upgrader up to 700 points and add a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you decide to take them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For example the perfect rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade, and aren't worth the effort.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. They also have an unchanging bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a unit. This bonus can sometimes be more than the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can do.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the gun will increase until it requires more Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. While this is usually beneficial however, it could have negative consequences as well. For items that only see use in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example), upgrading them may render them unusable unless you have an extremely fortunate roll.
Armor items can be upgraded to increase their performance. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms this will increase its base defense while gloves and belts enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it may reduce its value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain when upgrading along with the relative values of those stats. This means that the weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will be hit for 3 fewer times, since it is an absolute statistic.
Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button on the item Upgrader kit menu using the arrows that are circling. This will roll an item and alter its stats but not reset the weapon's levels, or connect it to an account's status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make a huge difference to your survivability. Certain sets offer massive increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which can make the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the greater defense you have on your character, the more health you'll receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.
To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game and in order to unlock each one you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which will allow you to keep up in frigid conditions with a large number of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense so that you can survive a raid with friends.
It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll need to focus on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power when you're a Mage. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you will still be wearing by the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also gain advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have a few upgrades to the helmets and chest armor to let you sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed provide the user with the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five different types of potions, each with particular effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, enhancing their level of effect. Additionally, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust them.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them using a craft table or the chest of the Alchemist. The price of upgrades will vary based on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, as well as on the item upgrade's Mark Level as well as its rarity.
To upgrade a potion you need to right-click it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI where you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will yield when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
Once a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade until you make use of it again or break the bottle in the container it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to rename it.
There were a few updates to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for example have now a duration of 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display of the item. The table for potion is now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be mixed in cauldrons. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron drains the contents and refills the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are made with splash and dragon breath potions. Similarly, a lingering potions can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The table of potion ingredients has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It can also refer to an object or ornament that has a purpose but is not important, like a trinket. In some cultures, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, specifically between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. As with other upgrades to items trinkets are able to be exchanged at will without losing their status.
The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, as well as in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are bought with tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.
Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a brand new trinket. It is possible to upgrade items a player for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as the previous one, and will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they're no longer needed and allows players to boost their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them an extremely popular alternative to gold.
In general players should upgrade their most important items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, then their secondaries, and finally other pieces of gear that will not be replaced in the near future (for example rings or cloaks). When deciding on the items to upgrade, players should be aware of their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players then they should consider upgrading their helm, chest and shoulders.
Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they no longer have value, and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade can ruin the previous trinket, unless it is saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than buying a new one.
