Guide To Robot Vacuum Deals: The Intermediate Guide To Robot Vacuum Deals
Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
This is your time to own a robotic vacuum. CNET's best buy robot vacuum-rated models will be on sale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday with discounts as high as 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its running time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. Its most significant breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste that most other robots can't avoid (and often plough right through). It's also the first to automatically send you photos of any object it encounters to let you know to stay clear of it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills effortlessly, leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. It can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't vacuum in areas you don't want. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it by voice.
Its design is superior to the rest, with a sleek top piece that looks more like a toy robot than a loud, obnoxious one. And the Clean Base Automated Dirt Disposal System self-empties which is great for reducing your cleanup time.
In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ was quick to removed dust, dirt, and pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in its place instead of scattering it on the floor. It even was able to take small gravel and sand that other robots aren't able to do. And it did all of this without getting caught in our pet's hair shedding.
The j7+, while not as intelligent as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot and cannot clean the stairs, is an option for those who want both mopping and a vacuum. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
Although the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that work with robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates, and it's sometimes difficult to know whether they're working until you see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you are looking for a robot automatic vacuum cleaner cleaner that can do more than just clean your floors, a hybrid is the best option. These bots are equipped with a tank of water so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. They also have a range of additional features, including smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and even the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. They're costly at retail, but they often are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock makes some of our most loved robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. This is their least expensive auto-empty model, and while it doesn't have certain features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great option if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save some hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is remarkably soft when it comes to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it an ideal choice for homes that have lots of furniture. It is also very thorough in removing dust bunnies. This is an area that many cheaper robot vacuums do not excel in. The Q5+'s navigation is top-quality, with a few misses along walls or in corners.
Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled by the buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. With the app you can start and stop cleanings or schedules, establish virtual barriers and no-go zones, and modify your home map or change the labels of rooms.
If you opt for the Q5+, it ships with a new auto-empty dock that's designed specifically to make this robot easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver install, but once installed, the process of emptying the bin is easy. It comes with a huge LCD screen, which is useful when setting up schedules and changing settings. This isn't a necessity for everyone, but it's one that will assist you in keeping the track of the intervals between maintenance for your robot easily.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both mopping and vacuuming. Its design is one of the best in the industry, but it's expensive.
The base station looks nice and is hidden when it's not in use, and the dimensions are quite small. But the station's main selling feature is the way it automatizes many tasks and functions that other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot charged and clean.
Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive as well. It's the only robovac that I've tested that does an excellent job of removing debris from bare floors. It's also not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not without faults, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means that it can get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. It's also unable to climb stairs like other models and isn't equipped with a dock to create a cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.
Although it doesn't provide as much in the way of cleaning options available in its app or as many shortcuts within the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for an all-around great mop and robot vacuum that's worth the premium price price.
If you're looking to cut costs or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are alternatives available. A lot of eufy models are substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides a similar in-app experience with more features, including the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy, a Anker company is a long-standing leader of making robot vacuums that strike a good balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful automatic cleaning robot of hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at a reasonable price. It's simple to set up, simply snap on one of the side brushes and turn it on, then plug in your charging dock. The app takes you through a few steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to place the dock near an outlet for power and enough space for it to move, however.
The G30 is a compact device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it will fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is less ostentatious than some rival models, sporting a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs an area in a spiral pattern for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.
The most important feature that distinguishes the G30 above the rest is the way it cleans. It uses an integrated map to create an image of the immovable items in its path. It can remember the things it has cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. When it needs to recharge, it will automatically return to its starting point and begins cleaning where it started.
The eufy G30 isn't without its faults, though. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower recurring costs. It is faster to charge, has a similar battery life, and performs better on bare carpet or floors with low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin that does not require as much emptying. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30, however, is more affordable and much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't need to be empty as often and has less trouble with bulky materials like cereal.
