The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to more robust bases. Items with strong bases, such as the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, trinkets and tools for gathering, offering an added bonus or effect when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, retrieved as loot by enemies, or obtained from chests and missions. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be at a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade an item level upgrade of armor, the user must choose it and click the upgrade item button located in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade statistics and the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three kinds of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be placed in any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment are exactly the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, add their name to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding an Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool and replaces the glyphs by a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, except for inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from previous versions in several important ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, however the materials required do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a couple of key items and maximize their impact rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across several items.

This will enable the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to receive affixes that will increase its features. The number of affixes that are available is contingent on the Best item upgrade's base. For example an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will only have two affixes to choose from, while a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade step requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level and what slot it is in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC offers the player the choice to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a different set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours, and costs the same amount of material. However, it has a lower rate of success.

Engineers use a level in order to compare the height of the building against a known point, such as the benchmark. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and level and then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are constructed to a high standard of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can drastically increase the strength of an item, damage, or other characteristics. This can be accomplished through the item menu or clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be used sparingly.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, and use them to earn Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The rarity and the cost of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level filled.

Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes, which made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you'd receive the stats that mattered most to your build often than other items. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for all stats. This can be either good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment particularly in the initial stages. Rerolling can give players a faster path to a powerful character which allows them to achieve high tiers and progress the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be organized in various ways. They could be of various dimensions, have none of the elements, or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or organize information. They can also be useful in analysing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways in terms of size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an extensive selection of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Clicking the Upgrade button will show the item's attributes and the items required to upgrade it. It will show the item's features, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, armor and weapons are more valuable when fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their stats. This will also boost the defense value of armor that has an updated look.
