World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example an item with the upgrade template that is ending in % will suffer 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before a component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could include a suffix or prefix that alters the name of the item to the upgrade (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or by buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will drop during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of how much they'll increase after a future reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process could be costly and there is a substantial possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break if it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the risk of failure. Certain upgrades also provide the player a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes within the area around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded a variety of ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 as soon as possible.

In the endgame you'll find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and give significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that can boost a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

The use of Glyphs Glyph will boost all nodes that are connected to it, and you should try to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the power of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of an item upgrader requires a different number of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is advanced in level.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an item is upgraded by a player to a higher level, the original item is replaced by a new item level upgrade of the same type. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This can be a downside, as the item can be more expensive even if you don't need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough tokens to be able to do this. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will have a level 1 base and a different set of bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it's not something that should be done regularly, as it can waste many resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or swims like a dolphin). This item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very useful in PvP battles, since the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.

Requirements

The upgrade of items allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also improve the strength of their base defense, while upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

Each item upgrade can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned, such as crit chance damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or reloading speed). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains a crit chance increase that it will be applied before any attack damage increases. Slots is a brand new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value. For example, a common item might have five upgrades for a price of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements than regular gear. For example, they may need less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. The player will still need to take each piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade requires a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
