1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have test. They have motors that are top-of-the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model), they use smart mapping to create detailed floorplans that avoid obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also come with the feature of Carpet Boost that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our first choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a great deal, especially if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you want to save money. It's also very quiet and can work when you're at work or going to school. The only thing it doesn't have that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on well and aren't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying dock, though. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad for a dry one in minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into an elegant, compact package. Its smart cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets but it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combination makes use of advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to remove and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross-contamination. The flex arm is great for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire house, finishing with 66 percent of its battery left. It also did an excellent job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms with mixed flooring types, including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically fills up its base, and supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competition's compact models, this Robot Vacuum And Mop (Eric1819.Com) combo is one of the most appealing looking in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 in our testing thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully self-refill and empty its base station, and boasts an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with an intuitive mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's still quite loud that could be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to put up some more volume and some extra cost this is a capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range Best robot vacuum uk vacuum and mop, with many advanced features that let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner like Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, as well as washes and drys mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out the floor plan and detect obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this was not reliable in our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to complete the task. It also comes with an option called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home based on how dirty those areas are.

For larger houses, it's worth opting for a model that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot vacuum cleaner best to clean a specific area of your home by using the app or voice commands. A stair mode can be useful if you have a number of furniture. Also the recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you'd expect from its price tag. It vacuums well, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion that is cleaner than the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as a self-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or create a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for greater efficiency. The app also grants access to a host of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has a strong 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute little eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to getting caught on low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've tried. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
