1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO, are identical robots that differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ a great choice for people who want a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience, but don't mind taking the time to empty their best robot hoover's trash bin as it gets full.

Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris on hard floors and carpets, and they're very adept at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart maps of your home that assist the i3+ to navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ isn't able to have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other top-rated robots we test. It can get stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces, like hardwood and rug.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include getting rid of any clutter or toys it may encounter. Also, keep the filters and dust bin free of dirt to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or the battery is empty it goes back to its docking station and automatically emptying its dirt into the station's dust bin and continues cleaning the area where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for about an hour and a half continuous use. It takes about three hours to fully recharge.

2. Roomba by iRobot

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot, and it comes with all the latest features. It is self-charging and self-navigating, but the most important feature is its self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint smart robot Mapping, which lets it map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or via the app.

The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin, which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to start or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and to vacuum a particular area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. When connected we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. Its sophisticated whole-machine filtration system traps allergens and releases clean air back into your home. It is able to swiftly switch from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.

The model comes with a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also provides the ability to connect two attachments as well as an wand. This is a major improvement over earlier Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.

The main issue with the V10 is its limited run time. As CR's tests have shown, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is an average not an extraordinary time to run the battery-powered cordless vacuum. This is enough time to sweep a typical-sized home but not enough to reach every spot. (A second pass is usually sufficient). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeable superior on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

One of the most well-known robot vacuums, the 694 is an entry-level model that's a good option for those who don't wish to spend too much money on a robot. It's capable of sucking up all types of debris and sizes during our tests, and it often passes over the same areas several times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach the corners and edges of walls.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and help you navigate your home. However, it lacks the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, like our top picks, i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. It is prone to getting stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and often runs out of power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 because it has less parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower cost of recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and is able to better move its own. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.

The RoboVac X8 is a slick RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of purposes, because it has a better battery life, the ability to change the suction power mode by hand and comes with physical boundary strips, and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. The app offers a variety of customization options for your robotic cleaner. These include virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior modifications docking frequency settings and much more. The app is simple to use and understand as are other Samsung devices.

In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it removed 86% of dog hair (on carpet). However, it did not do particularly well with larger objects, like cords and socks, which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than some of the other models we've tested and could be a deterrent for some buyers.

The smart best auto vacuum comes with an onboard camera that you can access via the app. You can also set up a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to check in on pets or children when you're away from home. The filter and dustbin are washable for quick, painless cleanup. The app also makes it easy to manually steer the robot if needed. For instance my living room rug has a darkly colored border that has a tendency to make it difficult for other robots I've tested. However the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, without registering it as an incline. And the ability to set up weekly cleaning schedules is a great time-saving convenience.
