Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one time, without having to switch between devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bins and refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads with a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer for its relatively low cost and is among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time. It comes with the complete dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are superb, with the robot being capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only minor issue is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but an instant glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.

The docking station has an LCD display that indicates the time when maintenance is required for cleaning up debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank in a controlled manner by using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. You can view the full cleaning details in the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand, though we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot hoover and mop mop and vacuum, is the most recent version. It's not like the model from last year this one has a double agitator in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that allows it to pull up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.

The Roborock model, just like the other two models I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they are a wall or another surface. It can then automatically change its path and clean them without skipping a beat.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular style is attractive and it has only three physical buttons that include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is auto vacuum and mop-refilling.

The only drawback I could find with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if necessary) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet that the Best robot vacuum cleaner UK passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number clever features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these via the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its smart design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry mess, including pet hair and crumbs. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet while in use with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

Another noteworthy feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brushes, which lets it get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture, such as tables and chairs' legs. The robot can also reach under furniture that is low-profile which makes it an ideal option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that allows the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through repeated back-and-forth movements.

Unlike other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is simple to use and understand, and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, change modes, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping setting. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features that make it an excellent option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect if the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive models available however, it comes with numerous additional features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a fantastic feature since it prevents the growth of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a feature has yet to be seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a useful way of keeping your home hygienic for longer.

There are plenty of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app lets you make these settings or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options for customising the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are many features that other robots do not have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list, at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping system is also well designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
