Seven Reasons Why Best Robot Vacuum That Mops Is Important
The Best robot vacuums with mop Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning equipment. His main focus is robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. Multitaskers are a great option for those who are looking to remove mopping from their list of tasks. They have impressive mapping and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some wash and refill their own mopping pads for a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other models which makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners or under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar that combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery halfway through an efficient.
It's fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one sweep. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to pick up dirt hair, pet hair, and poop effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the double side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency is less impressive, but not by much. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is helpful when getting into narrow corners or on baseboards. Those same front arms can be employed to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot hoover and mop mop and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't produce as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and performs well, but this is something you'll need to keep an eye on if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the reason of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a wide range of features.
The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the home and also detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and methodically. This will result in an efficient, consistent clean which is also relatively quick.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach spots. They also have a stretchy side brush that can extend to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads are able to be cleaned and dried to prevent build-up and reduce the smell.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo lets you adjust the amount of suction and select between a back-and-forth or slightly more randomized pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
The device is costly, but has many smart features. It's important to remember that it carries regular costs, such as mopping equipment and maintenance. For example, a brushroll needs to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads should be changed every three months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner is rated highly on Amazon and includes a broad array of physical automation features. These include an energy button that serves as a general "Clean button, as well as a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station once it has completed the cleaning process. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home clean with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop. It is capable of mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two components, a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which includes an elastomer pad. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming might seem a bit outdated however, they mean that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refueling the water tank.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best feature was its accurate floorplan map which it uses to draw a route when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers, which can help to shield specific areas of your home from being cleaned with a mop.
We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing pet hair. It was able to collect the majority of hair our cats shed and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels were low and there were pleasant jingles to signal that it was starting and getting its work done.
Its main drawbacks were its simple app and the requirement to change out the modules whenever switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app cannot save multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot cleaner is a great choice for those who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it does have distinct features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its huge dock, which doubles as a charging base as well as housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning as well as an automatic hoover 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.
The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks, recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to identify obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at finding objects.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally get caught up in an obstacle--such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. While it was not common, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen, especially since the X1 Omni does not have an "stuck" status alert in its application.
Another possible issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn't a big deal except for the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.
On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a huge difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in a market dominated by clunky boxes.
