So You ve Bought Item Upgrade ... Now What
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.
The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for those with higher variance due to the need to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.
You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items that can be used to level up weapons and tools, armor and accessories. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display the item's next upgrade level, in the event that there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.
Many locations offer Item Level Upgrade upgraders in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon as well as the chance to obtain the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players finish certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible via a variety of ways. This is both a positive and an issue.
In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will cost less even in the event that they are part of another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut too, but it is only available once certain milestones are reached.
Crests
Players have a variety of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item level upgrade level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests can only be used on equipment that is of a particular rank, and that every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the type of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrading upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item upgrader mod in the proper steps and pathways.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't too difficult however, the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, once an Best item upgrade is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
Another significant modification is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them properly. It's Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
