WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the Item Level Upgrade (https://fewpal.com) level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for the latter due to the need to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.

upgrade item costs vary depending on the slot for the item upgrading and the current item level. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of getting a new recipe. The upgrade discount increases with the number of items being upgraded, and can be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require a variety of means which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player has upgraded to a certain item level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is true even if those items are from a different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW players have a few choices. Flightstones are an item upgrader kit that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complicated may require as many as 20 crests depending on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons that have a high difficulty for gear in the endgame. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests with care, since they have only one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment you have and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
