WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade increases item upgrader kit level by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade item.

The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that are used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other items. They can be bought by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will show a preview of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain a new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and a disadvantage.

In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade items system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will cost less, even when they are part of a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain achievement milestones.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW players have a couple of options. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

First, you should know that crests are only available for equipment that is of a certain rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the type or equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with a heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the Item level upgrade in the proper steps and paths.

Using these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests with care, since they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's Best item upgrade to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the best gear you have available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning on making. This is particularly applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which will only be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all slots are full of high-quality gear.
