WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in specific statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item upgrader kit has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and is accessible anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item upgrading however they'll always be cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to level up weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool using the help of button, which displays an image of the item level upgrade when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.

Many locations offer item upgrade upgraders in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible via a variety of ways. This is both a positive and a drawback.

In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a certain level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading further items to the same level will cost less even when they are part of a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

Players have a number of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

First, you should know that crests are only available for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, contingent on the type or equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece of equipment has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important modification is that crests have one purpose and it's crucial to use them properly. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you can locate and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
