The Sage Advice On Item Upgrader From An Older Five-Year-Old
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrade of an item can be used to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it may increase the rarity of an item or mark Level and increase other stats.
The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests Each item upgrading has an upgrade track. Each upgrade item increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.
Item Level
When an item gets upgraded, its basic stats increase in value. This is the sum of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive dependent on who you employ and what you do. This is because of how many perks have to be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.
It is also used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to determine a gating condition when waiting for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to an lower level). Players can view their average item level in their character sheet.
The level of an item can help players evaluate the strength of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's an excellent indicator of an item's quality and how much damage it's capable of causing. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when evaluating a vendor's inventory.
The item level can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the full description of the item, including its ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then entering /itemlevel into chat.
There are several theories on how the calculation of the item's level is carried out. One theory says that the level of an item is determined by an equation that determines the value of an item's stats actually are. It considers the fact that different perks have different values and that gems in sockets increase the item's overall value. This could result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzards actual level of the item.
However, this isn't the only factor that affects an item's ilvl, since the level of the area the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, such as by adding a level to its crit rating or haste rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more ilvl than those from lower-level instances.
Item Stats
Stats on an Best item upgrader are a significant part of what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of them in many ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon, and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stat modifications of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's skill.
Item upgrades add to that by boosting certain stats on the item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey for instance, will only be upgraded once however, items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at higher costs.
Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. Affixes are used to give items extra damage or special abilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs), or to distinguish them by adding a name.
All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges similar to other methods of rerolling.
Players can choose to upgrade an item with specific stats, or reroll affixes. The possible stat ranges of an item are determined by the level of the item, however all items are guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within that range, unless it is an exclusive item or an item that is a God roll from a boss of a raid.
Another thing that can be modified by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to boost. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be carried out on a per-item basis, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player can increase the probability of obtaining items and the properties that are spawned by loot and the strength of these properties. It doesn't, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players a chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game and is thus more beneficial in the initial game run as opposed to later ones, as most players prioritize higher weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.
In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance, which increases with each level of the item and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons can be made or spawn with the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to add another 40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.
Additionally there are certain items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be outfitted to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items can be purchased in the shop or created with the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item if it fails.
The rate of success of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of completing the upgrade successfully and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.
The Luck of an item can also affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item has a base success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases that chance by an additional five percent.
It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects may be masked by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
