Choosing a Double Pushchair Twin

If you have twins, you'll need a double pushchair in order to get them from A to B. Our range comprises of twin prams for newborns as well as double buggies in various configurations to meet your family's requirements.

Choose a stroller newborn which can fold in one step and then easily tucked away into your boot. You may also want a lightweight design that's easy to navigate and manoeuvre especially when you have busy high streets to tackle.

Side-by-Side

They are the most commonly used type of double pushchair that generally can seat two children together. They're generally wider than single pushchairs. This makes them less able to maneuver on footpaths. It can also be difficult to move up and down kerbs when an automobile seat is installed. The extra size makes them easier to maneuver through doorways, and they are more evenly distributed, so it is less burdensome to carry around on your back.

They can be used as twin prams from the beginning and a lot of models can be used with a carrycot or two car seats. Some can even be converted to one-mode with the basket (like the Cybex Venus).

The Bugaboo Donkey 5 is a great illustration of this. In Twin Mode, you can place the rear seat next to the carrycot. This allows you to create a fully enclosed twin space, which is ideal for infants. The pram pushchair also comes with a couple of very cool accessories, such as the newborn cocoons that can be attached to face either direction (for a twin-facing pram) or facing inwards (for a normal single). It's not as light like other options however it's very cleverly constructed.

Lightweight

Cybex is known for innovation, and this single-to-double pushchair cheap is no different. Its clever frame expands widthways to take two seats, and you can use it as a twin from birth by incorporating the addition of two infant cocoons (PS59 each) that provide enclosed, lie-flat areas for babies. It can also be used in a mono mode with one child, thanks to a large shopping basket that is placed behind the seat. It has both front and rear suspension which means it can take on bumps and uneven surfaces better. A top pick among our reviewers.

Available in a variety fashionable colors.

Tandem

If you're planning to have twins you will require a pushchair that is tandem. This allows the children to sit together and look at each one another. They are ideal for activities like visiting the zoo, because the kids will be able to gaze at all the animals together. They are also ideal for parents who need to keep an eye on both their toddler and their baby simultaneously.

Some tandem pushchairs prams offer extreme flexibility since they can be converted back to single mode. This is especially useful if you plan to have more than two children (or in the event that your child who is the oldest isn't a need for an extra buggy). This will help you avoid having to store an empty buggy which can be costly.

For instance the Cybex Venus can be used in both mono and double mode and has a clever frame that opens wide to allow for an additional seat. It's not the lightest pushchair, but it has a large basket that can be placed behind the front seat in double mode, or at the rear when in mono mode. The seats can be set to face each other or one could be placed higher up so it can look over the other and see what they are doing.

Other double tandem pushchairs such as the Joolz Geo 3 can seat one on top of the other, or side-by-side. They have a sleek, compact frame that makes them easier to maneuver through doorways and supermarket aisles Some models can even be used as a jogging or stroller on rough terrain thanks to a four-wheel suspension and wide rear wheels.

A tandem pushchair can also be used to transport two carrycots, or a car and buggy seat. This allows you to build an entire travel system from the outset and save money on separate purchases. Be aware that tandems are heavier and longer and may be less stable when you bump into kerbs and going over uneven surfaces. They also require dismantling in order to fit into cars.
