What NOT To Do In The Upgrade Item Industry
What is an Upgrade Item in World of Warcraft?
Upgrade items are items that can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets to increase their stats. You can obtain it by completing high-tier keystones dungeons.

Components
In computer technology, an upgrade is a replacement of software or hardware with a version that includes new functions or features. The purpose of upgrades is to make a system faster, more reliable or capable of handling higher amounts of data. Hardware upgrades include hard disk drives and motherboards. Computer upgrades should always be compatible with the specifications of the computer being upgraded.
In Guild Wars 2, upgrade items can be inserted into weapons, armor and trinkets to give an attribute bonus or another effect while the equipment is in use. To be accepted as a component, an item must have an upgrade slot and be at a certain level.
Components can be purchased from vendors in Night City or obtained by disassembling items that don't function. They can also be found randomly all over the world. Components can be purchased from vendors even if the item upgrader is not level-appropriate.
There are various kinds of components with universal upgrades (such as gemstones) that can be used in all equipment and providing less bonuses than those that are type-restricted. Jewels are only available in trinkets. They also offer a more bonus points than any other upgrade.
Inscriptions are special upgrade items which can only be placed inside a trinket. They can be used to increase the multiplier of experience. These are excellent for maximizing the character of a character, since they're inexpensive to purchase but don't stack with other experience modifiers.
Infusions are another type of upgrade item that can be added to non-ascended armor and legendary armor, as well as some non-legendary back items. They can be recovered by using an Infusion Extraction Device or salvaging them with the Ascended Salvage Tool. A crucial point to keep in mind is that upgrading an item with infusions will cause the resulting item to have a unique name. For example, adding a Rune of Minor Vigor to a Tyrian Armor will cause it to display the name "Radiant Tyrian Armor." In the hover display, an inscription will appear as an Inscribed weapon.

This altar will increase your valued item that you have enchanted by a certain amount based on the Glyph you choose to use.

Sets
If an upgrade is placed on a set or an exclusive item, a bonus will be given to the set. These bonuses differ based on the upgrade type. If an upgrade is put on a guardian set or ring, it'll give an increase in def, while the upgrade for a weapon will increase the damage of the aoe.
Upgrade items can be beneficial, but their effects aren't always the most beneficial. For example, a high breaking point item with a high dps may not benefit more from being upgraded if there is already another nearly perfect, or even perfect, non-upgraded version of the same item (whistan's shield for FB sorcs comes to mind).
