Choosing a Double Umbrella Stroller

When shopping for a double umbrella stroller it's crucial to assess your family's needs and priorities. This will help you narrow your choices and concentrate on the most important features.

The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 double umbrella stroller is a well-made, high-end product that folds up easily. It has large canopies and an enormous storage container. It's also simple to move.

Lightweight

The best double umbrella strollers provide a lot of functionality in a small double stroller, light package. They're not as heavy as a standard stroller or jogger and they're typically smaller when folded, too. They don't have the bells or whistles you'll find on full-size strollers, but they typically come with large canopy with ample storage space, and seating that reclines.

Many families opt for a lightweight double umbrella stroller because it's an ideal stroller for travel. It's easy to fold and fits into most carry-on bags or trunks for planes. It is also a good alternative for narrow doors and busy streets. It's also less expensive than a "travel stroller" with more features that you could use on a daily basis.

Some of the top double strollers like the UPPAbaby G-Link 2 have features that aren't found on the lighter models. This double umbrella stroller has hanging storage pockets as well as snack and toys trays in each seat and two cupholders for parents. Its streamlined design makes it one of the smallest double umbrella strollers available on the market, when folded. It also comes with a wide canopy to safeguard both seats.

A few other lightweight options such as the Joovy Kooper X2, have more of the bells and whistles you'd expect from a double pushchair umbrella stroller, including a more comfortable ride for both kids due to the padding of the seats and a more comfortable recline in each seat. It's important to note, though, that the more features you select the more the stroller weighs. It is also important to be sure that your child doesn't catch their fingers on the hinges or frames of these strollers due to how they open and close.

Compact

The smallest double umbrella strollers that fold are easy to maneuver and fit in tight spaces. These strollers are an excellent choice for parents who will use them frequently on streets, shopping malls, or to navigate tourist attractions like the zoo and aquarium. These compact, lightweight strollers are also great to use for commutes or as a backup stroller to a larger stroller that has more features when traveling.

There are two kinds of lightweight double umbrellas: those that have very little features and those that offer many options for comfort and convenience in addition to their small size. Some of the better examples include large pop-out umbrellas with SPF 50 and a peekaboo windows and padding seats, 5-point safety harnesses in both seat areas with reclining seats, as well as adjustable leg rests. You should also consider whether you'd like a car seat attachment or a tray for the parent and the amount of storage space that is available in each seat.

The Delta Children LX Double Umbrella provides a lightweight, low-cost umbrella that is affordable. The stroller weighs just 18 lbs, has an easy-to-carry strap and can be easily stored in the trunk of your vehicle or in the front hall closet. Its front wheels have precision technology and swivel, ensuring a smooth ride and easier steering. The brand new Kinderwagon Hop is a tandem umbrella stroller that has a narrow width that is also ultralight and easy for you to maneuver through doors. The model was out of the market for a few years however, it's back in production and worth checking out. It also has a larger three-panel canopy for improved sun protection than the smaller, basic models in this review.

Easy to Fold

The simplest umbrella strollers fold down like umbrellas and weigh less than other kinds. They are simple to carry, lift and stow, making them ideal for when you can't or aren't able to carry your full-size stroller due to any reason (traveling on a plane, exploring a foreign country, visiting grandma). They usually aren't as well-equipped as a full-featured stroller, but they should have the essential features you need, such as storage and a sun canopy.

The most recent version of the UPPAbaby G-Link 2 is lighter and narrower than its predecessor, and has an improved front wheel that increases the maneuverability and pushability. It's an excellent option for a double stroller, and it's Disney-approved!

A double tri-folded stroller, such as the Joovy Kooper X2 offers all the convenience and ease of use of an umbrella stroller in an appearance that is similar to a large-sized stroller. This kind of stroller is replacing the standard double umbrella stroller. It could be your ideal choice if you're looking for a lightweight, multi-purpose stroller.

Most double umbrella strollers that we recommend are side-by-side models. The exception is the Kinderwagon Hop, a tandem umbrella stroller that's extremely light and easy to fold (though it's also quite narrow). If you're looking for a cheap simple, basic, no-frills Thule Double Stroller umbrella stroller that you can put in your trunk or back pack for quick trips, we recommend this model. It includes two storage bags that hang from the bags at the back of each seat, and cup holders for the parents. It's so basic, you may not get your children through the airport without an oath. However, it will make your journey more enjoyable.

Comfortable Seats

Most umbrella strollers don't feature many bells and whistles because they're made to do one thing: transport two children from point A to B. They usually have comfortable, spacious seats, but they don't have recline options or all terrain wheels.

The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 is the exception. It's an incredibly lightweight and compact double single pushchair umbrella stroller with two seats that weigh only 18 lbs each, making it an ideal choice for anyone who travels (it meets Disney size requirements). It has a great suspension, a large three-panel canopy that is able to shield children from the sun and plenty of storage space in both seats, but not quite as much as our top picks. It also comes with the essential 5-point safety harnesses on both seats as well as windows that peek out in their canopy.

The G-Link lacks the bellybar and snack tray we'd love see on our top picks. But those features aren’t necessary for umbrella strollers. As with any umbrella stroller, it must be used with care to ensure that fingers - whether your own or a child's--don't get stuck in the hinges that fold up the frame and mechanisms.

In the majority of double umbrella strollers they have seats that are side-by-side. However there are models that have inline seating (one seat in front of the other). Inline models are easier to maneuver in doorways than side-by-side models, but they usually have a difference between the seating options that can cause your children to fight over who gets the best seat. Our previous test subjects were evenly divided on this matter and it's an individual decision.

Safety

The safety of your children must be the top consideration when you choose a stroller and the design of double umbrella strollers can make or break the quality of its operation. Some models come close to offering the same level safety as the full-sized double strollers. These strollers usually have 5-point harnesses and calf and feet rests for children, as well being able to extend UPF 50+ sunvisor. They are typically also narrower and lighter than other double umbrella strollers which makes them easier to maneuver in tight spaces such as airports or city streets.

Some models, like the Kinderwagon Hop are side-byside and are easy to push in tight spaces. This stroller is perfect for parents who travel with children and needing a simple and quick method of getting around. It's also compact enough to fit in the trunk of a car.

The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 is another model worth looking into. It is one of the most light double strollers that we have tested. It has a surprisingly robust design for an umbrella product. It also features a large, easily accessible storage basket with reclining seats, as well as an open window. The seat is able to hold 35 pounds. and is able to meet Disney stroller specifications.

Other models, like the Jeep PowerGlide Double Stroller, may be less basic in design and not have as many features. However, these strollers are still very lightweight and can be utilized as a backup for occasional travel needs. They are also much cheaper than renting a stroller for an entire trip or vacation. They're also easy to fold, lift, carry, and stow away.
