WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader kit Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random extra substat is also added to each upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item level upgrade upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item upgrader mod that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item upgrading, however, they are always less expensive than purchasing new gear. For instance upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which will display an image of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade must be acquired through various methods that are both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less even if they are part of another set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced too, but it is only available once certain milestones are reached.

Crests

Players have a number of options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons to obtain endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which will only be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
