WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

The more modernized gear generally has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for the latter due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade item their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade items can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item upgrade when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Upgraders for items can be found at many locations, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. When a player has an upgrade to a specific item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same item level will cost less, even when they belong to a different gear set.

The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut also, but is only available once certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests depending on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing content at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons that have a high difficulty for endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item level upgrade is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one purpose and it's crucial to use them properly. It is Best item upgrade to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
