Path of Exile Item Upgrades

The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading the performance of them. They can be a good source of extra damage and more AD or even more affixes.

Rare-grade equipment can be superior to the more modernized Common or Magic gear due to their high demands.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a type of upgrade that can be applied to weapons and armor items. They improve the stats of the item upgrader kit that they're connected to. Upgrades to armor are available in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternately, they can be salvaged from items with upgrade components within them by using an expert or greater salvage kit.

The amount of damage a piece of armor or weapon will absorb is contingent on the degree of upgrades. A piece of armor upgraded to the highest upgrade level will increase its ability to absorb damage. But, it's important to keep in mind that this will increase its weight, causing it to weigh more than it was before.

There are a few different types of armor upgrades that are available in the game and they all have different effects. For instance, some upgrades will grant the armor a certain amount of health points while others will make it lighter and stronger. The name of the armor upgrade will indicate the kind of upgrade that an item will be given, as illustrated below.

Some of the upgrades also require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which is shown by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Additionally, some upgrades require a charge to use, and are identified by the "Charges" entry in the table below. These charges are updated daily or never expire, depending on the upgrade.

The cheapest method of upgrading armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be found by exploring the area and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more expensive however it is obtainable through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant improvements in stats and are well worth the cost.

The player must be aware, however, that upgrading a piece to its maximum upgrade level will increase its defense value. However, it will also affect its agility and its speed. For this reason, it is typically not recommended to upgrade most armor pieces beyond +9, since the added defense is generally not worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades required.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can increase the accuracy of a rifle or the damage that shotgun shells do. Some weapons have special enhancements to enhance their intrinsic characteristics. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and decreases the chance of overheating of the weapon) and Kinetic Coils (increases the speed of projectiles to cause more damage).

The majority of upgrades to weapons require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade. These can be gained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.

The process of upgrading a weapon, equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade fee of a set number of Bars. The more bars needed to complete an upgrade, the more advanced the level. If you have multiple upgrade materials the cost of upgrading will be lower.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the method of upgrading your equipment and weapon sets has changed a bit. In the past you could go to an Upgrade Bench and pay for a specific number of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to an increased rarity. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level, at which point the upgrades would reset.

It's possible, but it is dependent heavily on RNG. You're better off buying gear with low levels of upgrade, but high base scores and stat distributions. These will be able to give you the highest tier benefits and blessings.

The majority of players will make the most of upgrades to weapons they are most likely to use to allow them to progress faster. In addition players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons they use with their teammates to make them more powerful as well. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used in conjunction by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are utilized in the armor's sockets and weapons, enhancing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. Jewelry crafting is the process of making them, where you combine the gemstone with specific reagents in a jewelry table. The higher the level of the gemstone, the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be found around the world from Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and sometimes by salvaging Legendary gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.

The quality of a diamond can be improved upon by the Jeweler in stages that range from Crude to Royal. Depending on the tier of the jewel, it will provide a different stat boost when slotted into weapons, gear and jewelry.

All levels of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a high enough level to obtain these. In contrast to other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped out by a different jewel of the same kind without damaging it. However it is only possible to replace one jewel in a piece of equipment only once.

It is normal to use more jewels to enhance the appearance of. In addition to improving performance, the jewels create a surface that is harder than metal, which means that repeated friction with pivots doesn't damage them as easily.

In addition to the above upgrades, the player can also get glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These provide a small bonus and can be swapped freely, but are not guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold and Scattered Crystal. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits or aegis can't be exchanged, and can only be recovered by using an Upgrade extractor, or salvaging with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets can be used to give your character various small, but useful advantages. They are available in the starting area as loot or personal story rewards. They are also available from vendors as well as through the completion of road interactions. They may also be crafted by jewelers, and found or purchased at the Trading Post.

The first trinket a player is able to unlock is the cloak, which gives a small but useful bonus in speed of movement and evasion. The player will then be able to acquire necklaces, amulets, and rings, in a similar way to how they acquired weapons and armor. Each piece of gear comes with one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal or jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be used in any type of equipment while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and only works with specific types of trinkets.

These trinkets can also grant buffs and skills that are active even when the character is not fighting. This allows the hero to be more efficient while inactive. It also helps compensate for the absence of strong slots in the team or talent tree which would normally be filled by the hero's best stats.

A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best item upgrader-in-Slot) items that you will not replace in the near future, then any items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the item upgrade to be upgraded. This is true especially if you want to upgrade multiple statistics on an item level upgrade. It is better to upgrade one important stat instead of two subpar ones.

In the beginning of the game, players who are in the jungle will typically want to upgrade their yellow trinket to a red, while top and mid players will usually opt for the pink or green ward (depending on the matchup). These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's ability to control his map.

In addition to the items listed above, players can find other trinkets throughout the game in the form of trophies and awards. These can be earned by completing certain milestones in the story, such as completing a chapter's main quest or destroying a boss. They can be viewed by selecting the appropriate achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
