The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances, focusing on robot vacuum cleaner uk vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers are a great choice for those who want to cross mopping off the to-do list. Some models have superior mapping and obstacles avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model to select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It is smaller than other options and makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners or under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery halfway through a clean.
It's quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in one go. Its 8,000pa motor is able to remove dirt hair, pet hair, and droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as impressive. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which is useful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger debris like broken toys and books.
Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It doesn't produce the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping and is separate from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and is effective however, this is something you'll need to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase a highly effective, versatile and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the home and also find furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean efficiently and effectively. This leads to an efficient, consistent clean that is also quite quick.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach places. The side brush can be stretched out to extend to the floor, close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and dry to eliminate odors and stop buildup.
Another notable feature is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the strength of suction, and choose between a back-andforth, or a more random patterns. You can also adjust the number of passes it should make, which will affect the speed at which the device can traverse your home. You can also turn off the side brush to prevent damage to carpets and carpets.
The device comes with a high price tag but comes with a large selection of smart features. It's important to remember that it carries periodic expenses in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For instance brushrolls need to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad must be replaced every three to six months.
This robotic automatic vacuum cleaner cleaner has an excellent rating on Amazon and includes a broad range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum reviews vacuum also has an energy button that doubles as the 'Clean button' and a 'Home' button to send it back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 mop and vacuum. It can do both mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two modules which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module that is equipped with an elastomer pad. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming, but it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best automatic vacuum feature was its precise floorplan map, which it uses to create an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of picking up hair of pets. It was able to capture many of the hair shed by our cats, and even got into the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low and there were lovely jingles that signal that it was in the process of finishing its work.
The app was too basic and you had to change the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't store multiple maps, which could be a problem if you have a home with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot vacuums that mop is a excellent choice for those who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, however it has some unique features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its huge dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin and an 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.
The base comes with several control buttons, which allow you to manually begin a cleaning task or recall the robot, or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to spot obstacles and furniture in its path. It will avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognising objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with obstacles, like an electrical cord dangling across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you free it. This was a rare occurrence however it was frustrating because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert in its application.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during cleaning. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between use. This could lead to mildew and mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a huge departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an excellent choice for an industry dominated by boxes.
