The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, with a focus on mopping and robot vacuum combos. These multitaskers can be ideal for those looking to remove mopping from their list of tasks. Some models have superior mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model to pick if you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It is smaller than other models, making it more maneuverable in tight corners or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic hoovers vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to replenish its battery halfway through a clean.
It's quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways in just one pass. Its 8,000pa suction motor is quick at picking up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help to tease away debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is helpful in difficult corners or along baseboards. The front arms can be employed to clean larger objects, such as broken toys and fallen books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to set up and performs well however, it's something you'll need to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuum cleaner reviews vacuums that mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase an extremely efficient, flexible and ad-hoc cleaning machine.
The device has a powerful and impressive cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the home and locate furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and methodically. This will ensure an efficient and consistent cleaning, while also being relatively quick.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach a wide range of surfaces. They can reach corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach spots. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to the walls or other fixtures. In addition the mop pads can be washed and dried to avoid build-up and lessen the smell.
Another notable feature is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to alter the amount of suction and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more random patterns. You can also set the number of passes it should make, which will affect how quickly the device can traverse your home. You can also turn off the side brush in order to avoid damaging carpets and rug.
The device is costly, but has many smart features. It is important to remember that the device will incur periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For instance, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads should be replaced every one to three months.
The robot vacuum that mops has an excellent rating on Amazon and includes a broad variety of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has a power button which doubles as the 'Clean button' and a Home' button to send it back home after cleaning. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or just want an organized home that doesn't require much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. Its powerful performance, smart navigation and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean house with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuums that mop (sneak a peek at this site) vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot comes with two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping module with microfiber pads that snap into and out of the way. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping might seem a bit outdated however, they mean you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refueling the tank with water.
Our test participants discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise map of your floorplan that it uses to create a route when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which can help to protect certain areas of your house from being cleaned with a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a remarkable job at collecting pet hair. It was able to collect a lot of the hair sheds from our cats. It even got into some of the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low and there were pleasant jingles to inform you that it was starting and getting its work done.
The app was too easy and you had to change the modules every time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app is not able to keep multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want a smart robot that can do both vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. It does however, have distinct features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its enormous dock, which doubles as the robot's charging base and the housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink and a 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.
The base comes with several control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot, or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to turn off a child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to detect obstacles and furniture in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it is entangled in a hazard like a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't work until you untangle it manually. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert on its application.
Another issue that could be a problem is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between use. This could lead to mildew and mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a major change from the utilitarian all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing sight in a space that is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
