WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a an increase in certain stats. Each upgrade increases item upgrading level by 3. A random additional substat is also added to every upgrade.
Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrader kit used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.
The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.
The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the item being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to Item level Upgrade owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will display an image of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item upgrading is upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players finish certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrade upgrader at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade must be acquired through a variety of means that are both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and several new features added. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading further items to the same level will be less expensive, even if they belong to an entirely different set of gear.
The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
First, you should know that crests are only available for equipment of a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complex may require as many as 20 crests, based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through completing content at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons that have a high difficulty to obtain endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
It's also important to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's Best item upgrader to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
