Boosts
There are a myriad of boosts available with an item upgrader. They can include stats, as well as additional bonuses. These bonuses can be applied to weapons or armor, as well as trinkets. They can be used to enhance a character's abilities or to add a new element of variety to their character.
The upgrade system in World of Warcraft allows players to increase the level of their gear by paying currencies at an item upgrader NPC. The system was introduced in Mists of Pandaria and was extended with the release of Warlords of Draenor. It's a good way to increase the level of your equipment, allowing you skip the tedious grind of questing and avoid a bunch of wipes in Mythic+ dungeons.
When an item is upgraded its type of base changes. The upgrade of a normal item will create an Exceptional item upgrades, while upgrading an Exceptional item will result in an Elite version of the base item. The item will retain the stats it had prior to upgrading, and will gain an extra bonus from its new base type. This bonus is randomly chosen. It could be a weapon with an increased damage range, an increased speed of reloading, or an enhanced max defense roll.
The amount of extras that you gain with an upgrade depends on the amount of upgrades done. Each upgrade will increase the extras by a maximum of 3 points. In addition, each upgrade will also increase the main stat by +1.
In addition to the stat increase certain upgrades can also give a random secondary boost. These boosts can be important and should be considered when deciding what items to upgrade. Certain boosts can only be used in specific designs (such a Whistan's Shield for FB Sorcs) Some are beneficial to collectors.
Certain items come with inherent boos that are less effective when upgraded, such as the Goldwrap that gives you more slots for potion. They are usually upgraded to increase the value of the perfect or nearly perfect item.
Costs
Upgrades are accompanied by certain costs associated with them. The first is the cost to perform the upgrade. This price is contingent on the new level of the item and the number of perks it gains and is often expensive. Upgrades to higher levels (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) can be costly.
The other is the cost of items needed to upgrade. These are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons or specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords Of Draenor Quests. The quantity of these items needed can be found in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.
It takes time to upgrade an item upgrades. It can take up to 8 hours, depending on the size of the upgrade. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated based on the new ilvl of the item bonuses, perks, and other properties. This calculation determines new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, and other vital statistics. In some instances, an upgrade can grant additional benefits. These perks are offered on a list.
In rare cases the upgrade will replace only the most expensive bonuses. The upgrader could also make other adjustments to the item, such as changing its weapon damage type or removing an operative or unwieldy option. The cost for these changes is determined by the item's current ilvl and may require a special material, such as an adamantine alloy.
Success Rate
The upgrade of an item is based on chance. Like any random system there is a chance that it won't work. However, there are a few factors which can improve the odds of success. This includes using an Upgrade Pity or adding additional materials to your upgrade.
The Upgrade Pity can be purchased from the NPC for crafting in Lost Ark. It increases the chances of a successful upgrade by a percentage. It is similar to the luck bonus some items have however it is more solid. This can be added to any weapon or armor and can be used three times.
You can also add other materials to the upgrade to increase the chances of success. They are displayed in a window above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is shown directly above the + button.
A Blacksmith Blessing, or an upgraded version of it, can be used to boost the odds of an upgrade succeeding. This item is useful if you have an item or weapon gear that has reached the highest level for its tier or is close to it. This item lets you upgrade the equipment to the next level without the risk of it breaking.
If an upgrade is unsuccessful the upgrade will be reversed to its previous state. This is typically a downgrade, but can also be an upgrade. It is a good idea to save upgrades for when you are close to the maximum capacity of an Best item upgrader (link web site), and use it as an option last resort.

Failure Rate
The upgrader for an item allows the player to add a second slot in their equipment. These slots can be used to apply an enhancement or enchantment to an item. It is important to note that not all items can be upgraded. The rate of upgrade and enchantment is dependent on the rank of the item. The higher the rank, the more zeny and items you'll require to upgrade it.
This system can be quite expensive, particularly for high-end gear. Upgrades to weapons and armor can cost as much as 100,000 z or 100 Carnium. As you progress in rank, your chance of success decreases. You can increase the likelihood of upgrading an item by making use of cash shop items.

The upgrade window will display a percentage indication of your success chances. This percentage is determined by the level of upgrade for the item and the core type you have chosen.
You can also choose a safeguard for your item which will safeguard the item in the event of failure. The cost of this protection will differ however it will always be lower than the cost of buying a new item. The protection is only available once per upgrade, and is not a valid expiry date unless it is used again.
