What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

Costs
Upgrades are accompanied by some associated costs. The first cost is the upgrade itself. The second is the price of the materials required for an upgrade. The cost of these changes is determined by the item's current ilvl and it may require a special substance, such as the adamantine alloy.
Success Rate
Best item upgrade upgrades are based on the chance of success, and as with any random system, there is a chance that the upgrade won't be successful. There are several ways to increase your chances of success. This includes the use of an Upgrade Pity or adding additional components to your upgrade.
An Upgrade Pity is a product you can buy from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the chance of the upgrade being successful by a percentage. It is similar to the "luck bonus" that some items offer however it is more reliable. It can be added to any weapon or armor, and is used three times.
It is also possible to add a variety of additional items to the upgrade, which increases its chances of success. They are displayed in a separate window, above the + button. There are a few limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is displayed directly above the + button.
A Blacksmith Blessing, or an upgraded version of it can be used to boost the chances of a successful upgrade.
