One thing to keep in mind is that although this crib is ideal for newborns, it won't last long after your little one turns six months old, and you will have to purchase a bigger cot. But, in general Roanna found that the Joie Roomie Glide was a excellent purchase and she particularly liked its elegant design.

John Lewis sells the Roomie Glide for PS160. Roanna thought this was a reasonable price for such a cot. She liked how it looked in her bedroom, and thought its gray color would be appropriate for the majority of modern homes. She did mention that it's not an ideal idea to rock a baby younger because it can cause an unhealthy sleep pattern that can be difficult to overcome later.

The Chicco Next2Me Magic

This is one of Chicco's more expensive options. It does have numerous excellent features. It's designed as an individual side sleeper or standalone crib, and is suitable from birth to six months. It has a new mechanism to open and close the side panel and is easy to operate even with one hand. It's also more adjustable than its predecessor, with 11 different height levels and retractable feet for a secure installation under any bed.

Our testers loved the easy access the side panel provides that can be lowered and raised with just one push of a button. This was particularly useful at night, as they could reach in and pick their baby up without disturbing them up.

It is possible to lower the side panel by itself but this is not advised, because it increases the chance that your child will fall out of the cot. The safety locking system ensures that the side panel will only remain in place if it's connected correctly to the parent's mattress. This feature is fantastic for peace of mind if you are breastfeeding and need frequent feedings at night.

Telescopic legs enable the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed including divan bases and beds with drawers. It features a tilting feature for babies with reflux, as well as an option to rock to ease them into sleep after a meal. It's also extremely large and has excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.

Our test participants found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, although it does have quite a long instruction manual. It's a bit heavier than other side-sleepers, but it's easily moved from one room to another. It's small enough to fit into a travel cot bedside crib bag when not in use, which is a bonus in the event that you have to transport it. The only issue our testers found is that the side panel did not flex as much compared to other models. This made it a bit harder to see the baby from your bed.

The kit for conversion to cot is also well-designed, with clear instructions. It includes everything you require. It took us around an hour to put together and was reasonably straightforward. The only drawback was the absence of written captions on a few images which made it difficult to comprehend some of the steps. However, it was a straightforward process and the quality of the materials employed was of a high standard.

In the co-sleeping position, we discovered the Shnuggle Air to be an excellent option for breastfeeding mothers and women who have had a C-section since it allows them to comfortably reach out to their baby for feeding and comfort without having to get up from their own bed. It's great for parents who do not want to go through the stress of putting their child in a traditional cot, or getting out of it.

During our tests, we found the gliding motion of the next-to-me crib to be extremely beneficial in lulling babies back to sleep after feedings at midday and in the evening. The drop-down side is also easily accessed to feed or calm babies in the middle of the night and was a major benefit for our exhausted test mums. The Joie Roomie Glide is a elegant and practical crib that isn't rocking, nor does it come with extra features like an audio system.
