What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?
A transparent device that makes certain Pokemon species change. It was created by Silph Co.
The upgrader for items adds a new widget to the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. This Manager costs 33 billion Angel Investors and offers no gameplay benefit aside from making it easier to view and purchase upgrades.
Boosts
There are a variety of boosts available with an item upgrader. These could include stats as well as extra bonuses. These bonuses can be utilized on weapons, armor and trinkets. They can be used to enhance the capabilities of a character, or add a new element of variety to their appearance.
The World of Warcraft upgrade system allows players to upgrade their gear by paying a currency fee to an upgrader for items. This system was first introduced in Mists of Pandaria, and was further developed in Warlords of Draenor. It is a convenient way to increase the level of your equipment, allowing you skip the tedious grind of questing and avoiding many wipes in Mythic+ dungeons.
When an item is upgraded the type of item it is upgraded to. Upgrading a normal item will create an Exceptional item and upgrading an Exceptional item will result in an Elite version of the same base item. The item will keep all of its prior upgrade statistics, but will also gain an additional benefit from its new base type. The bonus will be randomly selected from the following options: the chance to acquire weapons with a higher damage range, a chance to obtain an increased reload speed or a chance to gain a higher max defense roll.
The amount of upgrades you do will determine the amount of extras you will receive. Each upgrade will increase the number of extras by up to 3 points. Each upgrade will also increase the main stats by +1.
Some upgrades also give you an additional random boost in addition to stat boosts. These boosts are important and should be considered when deciding what items to upgrade. Certain of these boosts may only be used in specific builds (such the Whistan's Shield, which is for FB Sorcs), while others are valuable to collectors.
Some items come with built-in boos which is less useful when upgraded. For instance the Goldwrap provides extra potion slots. They are often upgraded to add more value to a near-perfect or perfect item.
Costs
There are a few costs that are associated with upgrades to items. The first cost is the upgrade itself. The cost for this upgrade can be costly and is contingent on the new ilvl of the item and the number of perks it gets. Upgrades to a higher level (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) are costly.
The second is the cost of the materials needed to upgrade. These are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons, or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. The amount of these materials required is available in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.
Upgrading an item is complicated and takes time. It could take as long as 8 hours, depending on the magnitude of an upgrade. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated using the item's new ilvl bonus, perks, as well as other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, and other important stats. In some instances the upgrade can grant additional benefits that can be chosen from a variety of perks.
In rare cases, the upgrade will only replace the highest-costing benefits. The upgrader can also make other adjustments to the item, such as changing the damage type of its weapon or removing an operative or unwieldy function. The cost for these modifications is based on the item level upgrade's new ilvl, and may require a special substance, such as adamantine alloy.
Success Rate
Item upgrades are based on a chance, and like any random system, there is a chance that the upgrade won't succeed. There are a few ways to increase your chances of success. This includes using an item known as an Upgrade Pity, or the addition of extra components to the upgrade.
An Upgrade Pity is an item you can purchase from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the chance of an upgrade's success by some percentage. It is similar to the luck bonus that some items have, but is more stable. It can be added to any weapon or armor and is able to be used up to three times.
It is also possible to add a number of additional elements to the upgrade, increasing the chance of success. The materials are displayed in a window located above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can upload is shown directly above the + button.
Another method to increase the odds of a successful upgrade is to use an item known as the Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is useful in the event that you have a weapon or piece of gear that has reached the maximum level for its tier, or is close to it. This item lets you upgrade the equipment to the next level without risking its breaking.
If an upgrade is unsuccessful, the system will be restored to its original condition. This is usually an error, but it can also be an upgrade. It is a good idea to save an upgrade when you're near the highest level of an item, and then use it as an option last resort.
There are many items in the Kafra shop that can be used to boost the odds of a successful upgrade. You can increase your chances of success by upgrading your equipment several times using HD Oridecon and HD Elunium. The rate of success will be increased if you can increase your chances of receiving a Double Mint by Shoe-Minting five times.
Failure Rate

The higher the item's rank, the more Zeny and items will be required to upgrade item it.

The interface for the item upgrader can be a bit difficult, but isn't impossible to navigate. The main menu appears on the left side and the upgrade window is on the right. The arrows to the left side of the UI depict the various stages of the upgrade process. Click the question mark icon to receive assistance if you're not sure what you're doing.
