WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

The more modernized gear generally has a higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with higher variance because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to level up weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to Item Level Upgrade owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using an button, which will show an item's preview at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

upgrade item costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current item upgrade level. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an Best item upgrader upgrader at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via various methods, which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, a number of new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is true even if those items come from another set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain achievement milestones.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW players have a few options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for gear with a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons to obtain endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests have one purpose therefore it's essential to use them properly. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top equipment you have, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
