WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you an increase in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item upgrade is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item that is used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item level upgrade will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with an button, which will show an item's preview at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

Upgraders for items can be found at many locations, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with several new features added. Once a player has upgraded to a certain item level upgrade level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This applies regardless of whether the items are from another set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced too, but it is only available once certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you should know that crests are only available for equipment that is of a certain rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, depending on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest level possible on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they are only used for one purpose. It is Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the Best item upgrade gear you can locate and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount when all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
